Kyra Minton Sedgwick is a native of New York and is an American actor. She has a large following in America and across the world for her role as lead actress in the TV series 'The Closer.' Sedgwick had a passion for artistic expression, Broadway and performing since when she was 12 years old. Her mother showed a keen interest in the Broadway and introduced her to it. Sedgwick's first acting job was with a TV series called 'Another World.' She was aged 16. The idea of being an actor of a certain stature was the goal she hoped to become. She began with minor roles on TV. She got noticed on the big-screen for the first time with her part as a support actress in the film 'Born on the 4th of July' in which she appeared alongside Tom Cruise. Sedgwick received offers to film more after her success like: "Singles", 'Heart and Souls" "Phenomenon", etc. When she was just 22 year old, she was married actor Kevin Bacon after working in the television series Lemon Sky. Sedgwick became a household name on American television for her outstanding role in "The Closer" which was a seven-season television show that won her the Golden Globe Award and Emmy.
